Who produced Pixar’s Coco?
Answer
Darla K. Anderson
Answer
Darla K. Anderson
Darla K. Anderson produced Pixar’s Coco.
As producer, Anderson helped oversee the film’s development and production across its writing, design, animation, music, and post-production departments. Coco required extensive coordination because it combined a supernatural setting, original songs, a large family story, and a visual world inspired by Mexican traditions.
A producer is not the same as a director, writer, or composer. Lee Unkrich directed the film, Adrian Molina co-directed and co-wrote it, and Michael Giacchino composed the original score. These roles work together but carry different responsibilities.
Anderson was a longtime Pixar producer whose credits also included A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 3, and Cars 2. Coco was her final Pixar feature as producer, making the film an important part of her career at the studio.
