What is the title of the song Miguel sings to Mamá Coco in Pixar’s Coco?

Miguel sings “Remember Me” to Mamá Coco in Pixar’s Coco. The intimate performance helps restore Coco’s memory of her father Héctor and reconnects the family with the truth about its past.

Earlier in the film, “Remember Me” is associated with Ernesto de la Cruz, who performs it as a glamorous showpiece. That version makes the song seem like a celebrity anthem. Later, Miguel sings a gentler version at home, revealing that Héctor originally wrote it for his young daughter before leaving to perform.

The song’s meaning therefore changes with its performer and setting. In the final family scene, it is not primarily about fame or public applause; it is about preserving a personal bond through memory.

“Remember Me” was written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, while Coco also won Best Animated Feature at the same ceremony.
