Who presents the British television programme Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Evan Davis presents the British television programme Dragon's Den.

Davis is a British economist, journalist and broadcaster. He became the programme's presenter in 2005, helping introduce each pitch and guiding viewers through the negotiations between entrepreneurs and the Dragons.

His role differs from that of the investors. Davis does not normally decide whether a business receives funding; instead, he provides continuity, explains parts of the deal-making process and interviews participants around the pitch. The Dragons make the investment decisions themselves.

Davis is also closely associated with BBC news and current-affairs broadcasting. He presented The Bottom Line on BBC Radio 4 and served as the presenter of Newsnight. Because several well-known broadcasters have hosted business programmes, viewers sometimes incorrectly attribute Dragon's Den to another BBC presenter.
