Who presents the BBC business-investment programme Dragons' Den?
Answer
Evan Davis
Answer
Evan Davis
Evan Davis presents the BBC business-investment programme Dragons' Den.
Davis became the programme's presenter in 2005, when the British version launched. He is an economics journalist and broadcaster, and his role is to introduce the entrepreneurs, explain the investment proposals and manage the negotiations between contestants and the dragons.
Davis is not one of the investors. The dragons sit on the panel and decide whether to offer money, while the presenter remains separate from the deal-making process. This distinction is sometimes blurred because the programme's title makes the investors especially prominent.
Before and alongside Dragons' Den, Davis held senior broadcasting roles at the BBC, including presenting the current-affairs programme Newsnight. The British programme is adapted from the Japanese format Money no Tora, but Davis is associated specifically with the UK adaptation. His calm interview style and concise explanations have been a consistent part of the show's presentation.
