Who presented the UK television show Dragons' Den from its launch?

Evan Davis presented the UK television show Dragons' Den from its launch in 2005.

Davis is a British journalist, broadcaster and economist who became the programme’s first presenter. His role was to introduce the pitches, explain the business proposals and guide viewers through negotiations between entrepreneurs and the Dragons.

He presented the programme through its early years before leaving the role in 2013. Davis was later associated with BBC current-affairs broadcasting, including Newsnight and the Today programme, which can make his Dragons' Den work less familiar to newer viewers.

The presenter is separate from the investor panel. Evan Davis did not act as a Dragon in the show; the people making investment offers were the business figures seated in the den.
