Evan Davis presented the UK television show Dragon's Den from its launch in 2005 until 2023.
Davis is a British journalist, economist and broadcaster. He became the original presenter of the BBC's Dragon's Den and guided viewers through the entrepreneurs' pitches, negotiations and reactions from the investor panel.
The presenter is separate from the Dragons. The Dragons provide or consider investment, while the host introduces the businesses, explains the proposals and connects the studio action for the audience. This distinction can be overlooked because the host is closely associated with the show.
Davis's long tenure covered major changes in the investor line-up. Jay Blades subsequently became the programme's presenter, making the handover an important dividing point in the British series. Davis also presented other BBC programmes, including Newsnight, but his Dragon's Den role began with the show's first episode.
