Evan Davis presented the UK television series Dragons' Den from its launch in 2005.
Davis is a British journalist, broadcaster and economist who became familiar to audiences through BBC business and current-affairs programming. His role on Dragons' Den was to introduce the pitches, provide continuity and guide viewers through the negotiations between entrepreneurs and investors.
The presenter is sometimes confused with the investors themselves, because the dragons dominate the programme’s most memorable exchanges. Davis does not normally act as a dragon or negotiate for an equity stake; he serves as the programme’s host and narrator.
His association with the series began at its debut and helped establish its tone as a business programme rather than simply a talent competition. The format depends on the host to explain the stakes clearly while allowing the entrepreneurs and investors to drive the conversation.
