Evan Davis presented the first eight series of the BBC television show Dragon's Den.
Davis was the programme's original presenter when the British adaptation began in 2005. His role was to introduce the entrepreneurs, explain the investment proposals and guide viewers through the negotiations.
He presented the first eight series before leaving the programme in 2013. He was later succeeded by broadcaster Nick Hewer, followed by comedian and presenter Sarah Cave, who became the show's main presenter in later years.
Davis is also known for his work in radio and news broadcasting. He presented the BBC's economics programme Dragons' Den alongside other BBC roles, which can sometimes cause confusion with the show's investors: the presenter does not take part in the negotiations as a Dragon.
