Evan Davis presented the British television series Dragon's Den from 2007 onward.
Davis, an economist and BBC journalist, became the programme's presenter after Adrian Chiles. His role was to introduce the entrepreneurs, explain the stakes and connect the pitches for viewers; he was not one of the investors deciding whether to make an offer.
He had already become familiar to British audiences through BBC current-affairs and economics broadcasting. His calm interviewing style suited the show's emphasis on financial detail, valuation and negotiation.
A common mix-up is to identify Davis as a Dragon because he appears throughout the studio process. The Dragons are the investors seated opposite the entrepreneurs, while the presenter remains separate from the investment panel. Presenter changes and Dragon changes are therefore different parts of the show's history.
