Evan Davis presented the British television programme Dragon's Den when it launched in 2005.
Davis is a British journalist, broadcaster and economist who became familiar to television audiences through BBC news and current-affairs programmes. In Dragon's Den, his role was that of presenter and guide rather than investor: he introduced the entrepreneurs, explained the stakes and connected the studio negotiations for viewers.
The Dragons themselves supplied the money and made the investment decisions. This distinction matters because Davis was sometimes informally described as part of the Den's on-screen team, but he was not one of the business investors.
Davis presented the programme during its formative years before later presenting roles became more closely associated with the BBC's news output. The show's title and investor panel remained the central focus throughout.
