Evan Davis presented the BBC television series Dragon's Den from its launch until 2023.
Davis is a British journalist, economist and broadcaster who became the programme's original presenter when the UK version began in 2005. In that role, he introduced the entrepreneurs, explained the investment stakes and guided viewers through the negotiations with the Dragons.
His presenting role is separate from that of the investors. Davis did not sit on the panel to make offers; the entrepreneurs negotiated with the Dragons, while he served as the programme's host and narrator. This distinction can cause confusion because the presenter is a familiar and continuous presence alongside changing investor line-ups.
Davis later became especially associated with BBC Radio 4's Newsnight, but his long-running Dragon's Den role remains a notable part of his television career.
