Who presented Dragon's Den when the British series launched in 2005?

Evan Davis presented Dragon's Den when the British series launched in 2005.

Davis is a British journalist, broadcaster and economist who became familiar to television audiences through factual and business programming. In Dragon's Den, he introduced the entrepreneurs and guided the pitch process while the investors questioned each proposal.

He was the programme's original presenter, helping establish its tone during the early BBC Two series. The presenter is separate from the Dragons: the presenter manages the show, while the Dragons decide whether to make offers.

Davis later became known for other major BBC roles, including presenting Newsnight and the BBC Radio 4 programme Today. Because Dragon's Den has changed presenters over time, viewers sometimes associate the early series with later hosts, but Evan Davis presented the launch era.
