Who plays the character of Queen Maeve?

Dominique McElligott plays Queen Maeve in The Boys. Her character, whose real name is Maggie Shaw, is one of the Seven and is portrayed as a powerful but increasingly disillusioned superhero trapped inside Vought’s corporate system.

McElligott is an Irish actress from Dublin who began working in television before appearing in films such as Moon, Leap Year, and The Guard. Before joining The Boys, she was also known for roles in Hell on Wheels, The Astronaut Wives Club, House of Cards, and The Last Tycoon.

Viewers sometimes confuse Queen Maeve with Starlight, another prominent female member of the Seven. Starlight is played by Erin Moriarty, while Karen Fukuhara plays Kimiko, and Claudia Doumit later appears as Victoria Neuman. McElligott’s Maeve is distinctively the team’s conflicted veteran, whose public image and private beliefs increasingly pull in opposite directions.
