A-Train is the speedster among The Seven in The Boys television series. His civilian name is Reggie Franklin, and he is played by Jessie T. Usher.
A-Train’s super-speed is central to the series from its opening episode: he accidentally kills Hughie Campbell’s girlfriend, Robin Ward, while running through a city street. That event brings Hughie into contact with Billy Butcher and helps launch the central conflict between The Boys and Vought’s superheroes.
The character’s public image as the world’s fastest man hides serious insecurity. He abuses Compound V to maintain his performance and competes against rival speedster Shockwave. A-Train is also a replacement rather than the original Seven speedster: Mister Marathon held that role before him. The Deep, Translucent, and Black Noir have different powers and are not speedsters.
