Who plays the character of Negan?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the character of Negan in The Walking Dead television series. Morgan first appeared as Negan in the sixth-season finale, "Last Day on Earth," before becoming a major character in later seasons.

Negan is the authoritarian leader of the Saviors, a powerful survivor group that forces nearby communities to provide supplies and submit to his rule. His signature weapon is a barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat named Lucille, after his late wife. The character's introduction established him as one of the show's most feared antagonists.

Morgan's performance eventually helped move Negan beyond a straightforward villain. After the Saviors are defeated, Negan is imprisoned and later becomes an uneasy antihero. Morgan also reprised the role in the spin-off The Walking Dead: Dead City, which continues Negan's story alongside Maggie Rhee.

The wrong choices are other prominent cast members: Andrew Lincoln played Rick Grimes, Steven Yeun played Glenn Rhee, and Jon Bernthal played Shane Walsh. None portrayed Negan in the television adaptation.
