Who kills the Whisperer leader Alpha?

Negan kills the Whisperer leader Alpha.

In the television series, Negan assassinates Alpha in season 10’s episode “Walk with Us.” He lures her away by claiming that he has found her daughter Lydia, whom Alpha intends to punish or kill. Once Alpha is isolated, Negan slits her throat and decapitates her.

The killing is part of a secret arrangement with Carol Peletier. Carol wants revenge because Alpha ordered the murder of her adopted son Henry, whose severed head was displayed with other victims along the border between the Whisperers’ territory and the allied communities. Negan later delivers Alpha’s reanimated head to Carol, confirming that he completed the assignment.

A common mix-up is crediting Carol with the actual killing. She engineers the revenge plan, but Negan performs the assassination. Beta, Alpha’s devoted second-in-command, does not kill her; instead, he becomes a major force in the Whisperers’ retaliation after her death. The comic storyline also gives Alpha’s death to Negan, though surrounding events differ.
