In The Walking Dead, the Kingdom is a survivor settlement founded and governed by Ezekiel Sutton, who adopts the title “King Ezekiel.” His theatrical style, formal speech and benevolent manner help give the community a sense of order and hope in a collapsing world.

Before the outbreak, Ezekiel worked as a zookeeper and stage actor. His closest animal companion is Shiva, a tiger he rescued and cared for after the apocalypse. Shiva became one of the Kingdom’s most recognizable symbols, although the settlement’s survival depends on its people, trade networks and alliances rather than the tiger alone.

The Kingdom is often confused with Alexandria or the Hilltop, two other major survivor communities. Together, these settlements form part of the alliance opposing Negan and the Saviors. In the television series, the Kingdom eventually falls into disrepair, and its residents relocate to Hilltop.
