Who plays Michael Gray in Peaky Blinders?

Finn Cole plays Michael Gray in Peaky Blinders. Michael is Polly Gray’s biological son and Tommy Shelby’s cousin, making him an important late arrival to the Shelby family’s criminal empire.

Cole joined the series as Michael in its second series, when the character is reunited with Polly after being separated from her as a child. Michael initially appears inexperienced and eager to prove himself, but his ambitions grow as he becomes more involved in Shelby Company Limited.

A common mix-up is Joe Cole, who plays John Shelby. Joe and Finn Cole are brothers in real life, and both appear in Peaky Blinders, but their characters are different: Joe plays Tommy’s brother, while Finn plays Polly’s son. Finn Cole is also widely known for playing Joshua “J” Cody in Animal Kingdom.

Michael remains part of the main story through series six, where his increasingly independent relationship with Tommy becomes a major source of conflict.
