Who played the villain Jurgen Voller in 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny'?

Mads Mikkelsen played villain Jürgen Voller in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”

Voller is a former Nazi scientist who reappears in 1969 under the name Dr. Schmidt, working on NASA’s Apollo program. He wants to use Archimedes’ Dial to alter history and correct Germany’s defeat in World War II. The character is partly inspired by Wernher von Braun, the real German rocket scientist who later worked for the United States space program.

Mikkelsen’s Voller is the principal human antagonist of the film, placing him in the tradition of earlier Indiana Jones villains such as René Belloq, Walter Donovan, and Major Toht. A common mix-up is confusing Voller with his subordinate Klaber, played by Boyd Holbrook. Klaber is Voller’s violent aide, not the mastermind behind the plot.

The film, directed by James Mangold, was released in 2023 and marked Harrison Ford’s final appearance as Indiana Jones in a feature film.
