Who played the T-800 in Terminator Genisys?

Arnold Schwarzenegger played the T-800 in Terminator Genisys, returning to the role he originated in The Terminator.

In Genisys, Schwarzenegger portrays a reprogrammed T-800 who has protected Sarah Connor for years in an altered timeline. The character is nicknamed “Pops” by the younger Sarah. This version is older in appearance than the original machine because the synthetic tissue covering a Terminator can age, even though its mechanical endoskeleton does not.

Schwarzenegger’s return is separate from the other actors who portrayed major Terminators in the franchise. Robert Patrick played the T-1000 in Terminator 2, while Gabriel Luna played the Rev-9 in Dark Fate. Genisys uses time-travel changes to place familiar characters in new circumstances, but Schwarzenegger remains the performer associated with its T-800.
