Who played Liu Kang in the 2021 film Mortal Kombat?

Ludi Lin played Liu Kang in the 2021 film Mortal Kombat.

Liu Kang is one of the franchise’s central heroes, traditionally portrayed as a Shaolin monk and martial-arts champion. In the 2021 film, Lin’s version is a young fighter who joins Earthrealm’s defenders and develops the ability to create and control fire.

The film’s ensemble also included Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han and Sub-Zero, and Max Huang as Kung Lao. Because Tan is the film’s main original viewpoint character, viewers sometimes mistakenly identify him as Liu Kang. Lin had previously appeared in productions including Power Rangers and the television series Warrior.
