Who played Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2?
Answer
Jamie Foxx
Answer
Jamie Foxx
Jamie Foxx played Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In the 2014 film, Foxx portrays Max Dillon, an electrical engineer who transforms into the supervillain Electro after an accident involving genetically engineered electric eels.
Before his transformation, Max is a socially isolated Oscorp employee who idolizes Spider-Man. After falling into a tank of eels, his body mutates into a living electrical powerhouse. A confrontation in Times Square leads him to adopt the name Electro and blame Spider-Man for his humiliation and imprisonment.
The film gave Electro a modern blue appearance instead of the classic yellow-and-green comic-book costume. Foxx’s version is also distinct from the original comic character’s civilian identity, Maxwell “Max” Dillon, though both are associated with electricity-based powers.
Foxx later reprised the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Electro is brought into the Marvel multiverse. Dane DeHaan played Harry Osborn, while Michael B. Jordan was not Electro in this film.
