Who played Dr. James Wilson throughout House M.D.?
Answer
Robert Sean Leonard
Answer
Robert Sean Leonard
Robert Sean Leonard played Dr. James Wilson throughout House M.D.
Wilson is House’s closest friend and a recurring moral counterweight to House’s cynicism. He chairs the fictional hospital’s oncology department and often helps House interpret the personal consequences of difficult medical decisions. Their friendship is a major continuing relationship in the series.
Leonard was already known for film and stage work before House M.D. His earlier credits include Dead Poets Society, where he played Neil Perry, and Much Ado About Nothing. He also built a substantial theater career and won a Tony Award for his performance in The Invention of Love.
Wilson is sometimes mixed up with the members of House’s diagnostic teams, including Foreman, Chase, and Cameron. Unlike those doctors, Wilson is an oncologist and remains connected to House across multiple team changes. Leonard appeared in the series from the pilot through the final season.
