Who played Cher Horowitz in the movie "Clueless"?

Alicia Silverstone played Cher Horowitz in the 1995 movie "Clueless." Her performance as the stylish, wealthy, and good-natured Beverly Hills teenager became the defining role of her early film career.

Written and directed by Amy Heckerling, "Clueless" was loosely adapted from Jane Austen’s 1815 novel "Emma." Cher tries to improve the lives of people around her through makeovers, matchmaking, and generous schemes, while gradually recognizing her own misunderstandings about friendship and romance.

Silverstone was cast after Heckerling saw her in Aerosmith music videos, including "Cryin’."
