Who kills Count Dooku?
Answer
Anakin Skywalker
Answer
Anakin Skywalker
Anakin Skywalker kills Count Dooku in *Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith*.
During the opening rescue mission aboard General Grievous’s flagship, Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi confront Dooku, the Separatist leader and Sith Lord Darth Tyranus. Dooku defeats Obi-Wan and initially gains the upper hand, but Anakin overpowers him and severs both of his hands.
Anakin is prepared to spare him, following Jedi principles, but Supreme Chancellor Palpatine orders him to execute the defenseless prisoner. Anakin follows the command and decapitates Dooku with his lightsaber. Palpatine secretly wants Dooku removed so Anakin can become his new Sith apprentice.
A common mix-up is the earlier duel in *Attack of the Clones*, when Dooku escapes after fighting Anakin and Yoda. Yoda does not kill him, and Obi-Wan only helps Anakin defeat him in the later confrontation. Dooku’s death is also a major step in Anakin’s moral collapse and eventual transformation into Darth Vader.
