Nelly joined forces with Fergie for the 2008 song “Party People.” The track was recorded by the American rapper and singer and released as the lead single from Nelly’s fifth studio album, Brass Knuckles.
The collaboration also appeared on the deluxe edition of Fergie’s debut solo album, The Dutchess. Its release connected two major 2000s hitmakers: Nelly, known for songs such as “Hot in Herre” and “Dilemma,” and Fergie, who had become a global star with the Black Eyed Peas.
“Party People” was produced by Polow da Don, with additional production from Sean Garrett. The single arrived on March 18, 2008, and its music video presented the performers as a high-energy party pairing.
The question can sometimes cause confusion because Fergie collaborated with many prominent artists during this period, including will.i.am, Ludacris, and Sean Kingston. For this specific song, however, Nelly is the credited lead artist and Fergie is the featured performer.
