Who is the protagonist of J.K. Rowling’s Cormoran Strike series?

Cormoran Strike is the protagonist of J.K. Rowling’s Cormoran Strike series. He is a private detective who operates in London and investigates difficult cases, often with help from Robin Ellacott.

Strike first appears in The Cuckoo’s Calling, published in 2013 under Rowling’s pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Unlike Harry Potter, the Strike books are crime novels grounded in modern Britain. Strike is a former military investigator who lost part of a leg after serving in Afghanistan, a detail that shapes both his physical life and his professional identity.

Readers sometimes confuse the series title with its author’s pseudonym. Robert Galbraith is the name on the books, while Cormoran Strike is the fictional detective. Robin becomes increasingly important across the series, but Strike remains the central character named in the series title.
