Who is the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony?

Luis Lopez is the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony. Luis Fernando Lopez is a Dominican-American former drug dealer who works as the bodyguard and business partner of nightclub owner Anthony “Gay Tony” Prince.

The story takes place in Liberty City during the same period as Grand Theft Auto IV and The Lost and Damned. Luis helps Tony manage mounting debts, criminal threats, unstable business partners, and conflicts involving stolen diamonds and the Russian crime lord Ray Bulgarin.

Tony Prince is central to the story, but he is not the playable protagonist; he is Luis’s employer and closest associate. Yusuf Amir and Rocco Pelosi are also important characters, yet neither leads the episode. Luis also appears in overlapping missions connected to Niko Bellic and Johnny Klebitz, giving the episode’s plot a deliberately interwoven structure. The expansion was first released for Xbox 360 on October 29, 2009.
