Huang Lee is a young member of Liberty City's Triads and the game's central character. He travels to Liberty City carrying Yu Jian, a ceremonial sword intended for his uncle, Wu “Kenny” Lee. The sword is stolen, Huang is left for dead, and the game's crime story follows his efforts to recover it and uncover the betrayal behind the attack.
Huang's family name is shared with his uncle Kenny, who is a major figure in the plot. That relationship can cause confusion because “Kenny” is often used as the uncle's familiar name, while Huang is the playable protagonist.
