Who is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Origins?

Bayek of Siwa is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Origins.

Bayek is a Medjay from the Egyptian oasis of Siwa. The game follows his investigation into a series of murders and the formation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later becomes the Assassin Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed Origins is set in Ptolemaic Egypt, mainly during the reign of Cleopatra VII. It was released in 2017 and substantially changed the series with role-playing mechanics, character levels, equipment statistics, and a large open world.

Aya of Alexandria, Bayek's wife, is also a major playable character and an important founder of the Hidden Ones. However, she is not the game's primary protagonist. Senu is Bayek's eagle companion, so that name is another frequent source of confusion when identifying the game's central characters.
