Who is the protagonist named Arno Dorian in Assassin’s Creed Unity?

Arno Dorian is the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Arno Victor Dorian is a French Assassin whose story unfolds during the French Revolution. After the death of his adoptive father, François de la Serre, Arno is drawn into the Assassin Brotherhood while investigating the forces behind the murder.

The game begins in 18th-century Versailles and later focuses heavily on Paris. Arno’s personal story is closely tied to Élise de la Serre, François’s daughter and a Templar. Their relationship gives the narrative a conflict between personal loyalty and the long-running Assassin–Templar struggle.

The surname can cause confusion because “Dorian” is sometimes omitted in casual references, while “Arno Victor Dorian” is the character’s full name. Élise is an important playable and story character, but she is not the game’s central playable protagonist. Unity also introduced cooperative missions for up to four players, although Arno remains the single main character in the campaign.
