Peter Jones is the only original Dragon to have appeared continuously on the British show Dragon's Den.
Jones was part of the original investor panel when the BBC series launched in 2005. He continued as a regular Dragon through later changes to the cast, making him the programme's longest-serving investor and its sole continuously returning original panel member.
The initial lineup also included Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Simon Woodroffe and Rachel Elnaugh. All four eventually left the regular panel, although several former Dragons returned for special appearances or other programme-related roles.
Jones is a British entrepreneur whose business interests have included telecommunications, technology, leisure and property. His long tenure is often used as a point of reference when comparing the show's successive panels. The phrase “original Dragon” refers to the launch-era lineup, not every investor who appeared during the first series.
