Who is the main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Rogue?

The main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Rogue is Shay Patrick Cormac.

Shay begins the game as an Assassin during the Seven Years’ War. After a catastrophic event and a crisis of faith, he abandons the Brotherhood and joins the Templars, becoming an Assassin hunter.

This perspective makes Rogue unusual within the franchise. Instead of following an Assassin throughout the entire story, the game focuses on a former Assassin who believes the Brotherhood’s methods have caused unacceptable destruction.

Rogue is set mainly in the North Atlantic, the River Valley, and New York. It connects narratively to Assassin’s Creed III, Black Flag, and Unity, and was released in 2014 alongside Unity.
