Who is the main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry?

Adewale is the main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry. The standalone expansion follows him after he leaves the Jackdaw and reaches Port-au-Prince, where he confronts slavery and helps people seeking freedom.

Adewale first appears in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag as Edward Kenway’s quartermaster and a former enslaved person who becomes an Assassin. Freedom Cry develops his perspective through a story focused on resistance, liberation, and the brutal slave-trading system in the Caribbean. The expansion was later released as a standalone title.

Adewale is sometimes mistaken for Edward Kenway because both characters are associated with Black Flag. Edward is the main protagonist of the base game, while Adewale leads Freedom Cry. Connor Kenway belongs to Assassin’s Creed III, and Bayek is the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Origins.
