Who is the main playable character in Assassin's Creed Mirage?

Basim Ibn Ishaq is the main playable character in Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Mirage follows Basim in ninth-century Baghdad, before the events of Assassin's Creed Valhalla in which he also appears. The story shows his development from a street thief into a member of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later becomes associated with the Assassin Brotherhood. His mentor is Roshan, a senior Hidden One who guides his training.

The game is especially focused on stealth, investigation, parkour, and targeted assassinations in Baghdad. Basim's role can be confused with Eivor's because Mirage is connected directly to Valhalla, but they are different protagonists in different historical settings. Bayek belongs to Assassin's Creed Origins, while Arno Dorian is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Unity.
