Who is the main playable Assassin in Assassin's Creed Liberation?

The story behind the answer

Aveline de Grandpré is the main playable Assassin in Assassin's Creed Liberation.

Liberation was released for PlayStation Vita in 2012 and later ported to other platforms. Aveline is a woman of mixed French and African heritage who operates in and around New Orleans during the eighteenth century. Her story takes place alongside the broader era of Assassin's Creed III.

Aveline's identity is central to the game's design. She can change between an Assassin outfit, a lady outfit, and a slave outfit, with each persona offering different access, abilities, and social possibilities. The game uses these disguises to connect stealth mechanics with the racial and class structures of colonial Louisiana.

Aveline is sometimes confused with other female protagonists in the series, including Kassandra from Odyssey, Evie Frye from Syndicate, and Shao Jun from Chronicles: China. She is also distinct from Elise de la Serre, a Templar character in Unity.
