Who is the main antagonist of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories?

Massimo Torrini is the main antagonist of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. He is a Sicilian Mafia underboss who arrives in Liberty City in 1998, apparently to mediate the conflict among the Leone, Sindacco, and Forelli families.

Torrini is secretly engineering the mob war. He encourages smaller gangs, including the Diablos and the Triads, to attack established Mafia territories, weakening all three major families. His larger goal is to let the Sicilian Mafia expand its influence in America.

Torrini also manipulates Liberty City's political crisis. He helps create the circumstances behind Salvatore Leone's arrest and later kidnaps mayor-elect Miles O'Donovan to prevent him from withdrawing the charges. Toni Cipriani and Salvatore eventually track him to a lighthouse, where Torrini is killed while trying to escape by helicopter.

Vincenzo Cilli is a major early rival, while Donald Love is an ally whose schemes drive several missions. Salvatore Leone is Toni's boss, not the game's principal villain. Torrini's role behind the wider conspiracy makes him the canonical main antagonist.
