Who is the longtime chairman and chief executive associated with Berkshire Hathaway?
Answer
Warren Buffett
Answer
Warren Buffett
Warren Buffett is the longtime chairman and chief executive associated with Berkshire Hathaway.
Buffett began buying shares of Berkshire Hathaway, then a struggling textile manufacturer, in 1962. He took control of the company and transformed it into a diversified holding company with insurance, railroads, utilities, manufacturing, and major equity investments.
Berkshire’s insurance operations, especially its ownership of National Indemnity and its reinsurance businesses, became central to the company’s growth. Buffett’s annual shareholder letters and Berkshire’s annual meeting also made him one of the most closely followed corporate leaders in the world.
Charlie Munger was Buffett’s longtime business partner and served as Berkshire’s vice chairman, but he was not the company’s chief executive. Buffett announced Greg Abel as his designated successor, while continuing to serve as Berkshire’s chief executive through 2025.
