Peter Jones is the longest-serving original investor still associated with Britain's Dragon's Den.
Jones has appeared on the programme since its first British series in 2005. He is an entrepreneur and investor whose business interests have included telecommunications, technology, retail and leisure. His consistent presence made him the only original dragon to remain on the regular panel across the programme's early changes.
The original panel included Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Rachel Elnaugh and Simon Woodroffe. Several of those investors later left, while new dragons joined in subsequent series. Jones therefore became the enduring connection to the launch-era Den.
His role is often confused with being the show's first investor, but the programme began with a five-person panel. The precise distinction is that Jones is the surviving original regular dragon, not the only investor ever present in the first episode.
