Nancy's boss and the editor of the newspaper in season 3 of Stranger Things is Tom Holloway. He is the editor-in-chief of the Hawkins Post, where Nancy Wheeler works as a summer reporter alongside Jonathan Byers, who is a photographer.
Tom initially dismisses Nancy's reporting ideas, especially her investigation into unusual rat behavior and the mysterious illnesses affecting Hawkins residents. His newsroom also includes Bruce Lowe, whose mocking and sexist treatment of Nancy becomes a major source of conflict. Nancy and Jonathan are eventually fired after pursuing the story against the newspaper's wishes.
Tom is more than an ordinary workplace antagonist: he is also the father of Heather Holloway, the lifeguard whose disappearance becomes connected to the Mind Flayer's plot. After Tom and Bruce are possessed, they attack Nancy and Jonathan at Hawkins Memorial Hospital. The character is played by Michael Park.
Tom Holloway is sometimes confused with Mayor Larry Kline, another prominent adult in season 3, but Kline runs Hawkins' local government—not the newspaper. Nancy's later journalism is tied to her school newspaper and future reporting ambitions, separate from her brief job at the Hawkins Post.
