The victory was Loeb’s 80th WRC event win and his first since 2018. It also extended his remarkable career across multiple generations of rally cars, from Citroën’s early-2000s dominance to the hybrid Rally1 era introduced in 2022.

The record concerns age at an individual WRC event victory, not the oldest driver to compete or the oldest world champion. Björn Waldegård previously held the mark after winning the 1990 Safari Rally at 46 years, 155 days. Hannu Mikkola, another famous older winner, won the 1987 Safari Rally at 44 years, 331 days.
