Who invented the Tangle Teezer, the detangling hairbrush pitched on Dragon's Den?
Answer
Shaun Pulfrey
Answer
Shaun Pulfrey
Shaun Pulfrey invented the Tangle Teezer.
Pulfrey, a British hairstylist, developed the brush after observing how conventional brushes could pull and damage tangled hair. His design used flexible, staggered teeth intended to separate tangles with less tugging than many traditional brushes.
He presented the product on Dragon's Den in 2007. Although the pitch did not immediately secure the deal he wanted, the Tangle Teezer later became a major commercial success through retail sales and international distribution. The company was founded by Pulfrey and built around the distinctive brush design.
The product is sometimes confused with a generic detangling brush or with a brand name that describes the function rather than the inventor. Tangle Teezer is the company and product brand; Shaun Pulfrey is the entrepreneur credited with creating it and taking it to Dragon's Den.
