Who invented the Tangle Teezer hairbrush featured on the UK show Dragon’s Den?

Shaun Pulfrey invented the Tangle Teezer hairbrush featured on the UK show Dragon’s Den.

Pulfrey developed the product after working as a hairdresser and noticing how difficult it could be to remove tangles without pulling or damaging hair. The Tangle Teezer uses flexible teeth arranged to move through the hair rather than catching in knots in the same way as a conventional brush.

Pulfrey presented the idea on Dragon’s Den in 2007. The Dragons did not invest, but the product went on to become a commercial success after the broadcast. This is a commonly remembered Dragon’s Den story because it illustrates that a refusal from the panel does not necessarily prevent a business from succeeding. Tangle Teezer later expanded into several brush designs and international markets.
