Shaun Pulfrey invented the Tangle Teezer hairbrush before appearing on the British programme Dragon's Den.
Pulfrey was a professional hairdresser who developed the detangling brush after noticing that conventional brushes could pull and damage hair. The Tangle Teezer uses flexible teeth arranged to move through tangles rather than simply forcing a brush through them.
He took the invention to Dragon's Den in 2007, seeking investment to develop the business. The pitch did not produce an agreement with the Dragons, but the television appearance helped increase awareness of the product. Tangle Teezer later became an international beauty brand and sold several brush designs.
