Who invented Tangle Teezer, the detangling hairbrush rejected on the British programme Dragons' Den?

The story behind the answer

Shaun Pulfrey invented Tangle Teezer, the detangling hairbrush rejected on the British programme Dragons' Den.

Pulfrey was a professional hair colourist who developed a brush intended to remove knots while reducing pulling and discomfort. He presented the concept on Dragons' Den in 2007, but the Dragons did not invest.

The product was later developed and sold through Tangle Teezer, becoming an internationally recognised haircare brand. Its success is another frequently cited example of a business that continued after failing to obtain a deal on the programme.

Tangle Teezer and Trunki are often mixed up because both became successful products after televised rejection. Their founders and product categories distinguish them clearly: Shaun Pulfrey created the hairbrush, while Rob Law created the ride-on suitcase.
