Who introduces the group to the Hilltop community?

Jesus introduces Rick’s group to the Hilltop community. The character’s full name is Paul Rovia, although he is almost always called Jesus by the other survivors.

Jesus first encounters Rick’s group while working as a skilled scout and representative of the Hilltop Colony. After being captured and then gaining their trust, he helps arrange contact between Alexandria and Hilltop. His knowledge of the region and of Hilltop’s leadership makes him the natural guide to the community.

At Hilltop, Jesus introduces Rick and his allies to Gregory, the community’s elected leader, and helps explain the settlement’s difficult relationship with Negan and the Saviors. This meeting becomes strategically important because Alexandria needs allies, supplies, and information. Jesus eventually becomes one of the central organizers of the broader resistance against Negan.

Sasha, Maggie, and Gregory are all important to Hilltop’s story, but they do not perform this introductory role. Gregory leads Hilltop, while Maggie later becomes its principal leader after Gregory’s failures and death.
