Who hosted Dragon's Den from its 2005 launch until 2023?

Evan Davis hosted Dragon's Den from its 2005 launch until 2023.

Davis is a British journalist, presenter and economist who became closely associated with the programme's calm introductions and explanations of the pitch process. He was the original presenter when the BBC adaptation began, remaining in the role for many years as the investor panel changed around him.

His work on the show involved introducing entrepreneurs, explaining the requested investment and helping viewers follow negotiations. He did not act as one of the Dragons: the Dragons were the investors who questioned contestants and decided whether to make offers.

Davis is also known for presenting BBC Radio 4's World at One and Newsnight. That wider broadcasting career can cause confusion when viewers remember him primarily from news programming rather than from the business series.
