Tim Anderson hit the walk-off home run that decided the inaugural MLB Field of Dreams Game. His two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth gave the Chicago White Sox a 9–8 victory over the New York Yankees on August 12, 2021.
The dramatic finish became one of the defining moments in the event’s history. The Yankees had rallied for four runs in the top of the ninth, with Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton hitting late home runs, but Anderson answered with the final swing of the night.

When the series returned in 2026, the Phillies and Twins played at a renovated venue, but Anderson’s 2021 homer remained the original Field of Dreams Game’s signature ending.
