Evan Davis has presented the UK version of Dragon's Den since its first series.
Davis is a British economist, journalist and broadcaster. Before hosting the business programme, he was best known for his work at the BBC, including economics reporting and presenting the current-affairs programme Newsnight.
Dragon's Den uses Davis as the programme's presenter rather than as one of the investors. He introduces the entrepreneurs, explains the offers and helps viewers follow negotiations while the Dragons question the business owners.
A common mix-up is to confuse Davis with the investors, whose panel has changed repeatedly. Davis's role has remained that of presenter and interviewer, giving the series continuity across different investor line-ups.
