Who has presented the UK television show Dragon's Den since 2005?

The story behind the answer

Evan Davis has presented the UK television show Dragon's Den since 2005.

Davis succeeded Adrian Woolfe, who hosted the first UK series. Before joining the programme, Davis was already well known as a BBC economics journalist and broadcaster. His role is to guide entrepreneurs through their pitches and manage the questioning between the contestants and the investors.

The presenter is sometimes confused with the Dragons themselves. Davis does not normally invest his own money in the businesses shown; the investment decisions belong to the panel of entrepreneurs. The programme's presenter also differs from the narrator or production team, whose work is largely behind the scenes.

Davis later became especially associated with BBC political and economic coverage, but Dragon's Den remains one of his most recognisable television roles. His long tenure helped make the UK format familiar to viewers across many series, even as the investor lineup changed repeatedly.
